ICU - RN- Central Float Pool

GENERAL SUMMARY: The RN- Central Float Pool is regularly scheduled to rotate between 3 hospitals, with commitment to work every other weekend; one summer holiday; one winter holiday; two hard-to-fill dates; and two Mondays and three Fridays per 6-week schedule. Work shifts may be redeployed up to one hour prior to shift start due to changing staffing needs. The exception to the requirement to work at 3 hospitals applies to staff selecting to work at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Due to the distance between Jackson Hospital and the other hospitals in the system, employees committing to working at Jackson will only be required to work at Jackson but will be expected to float throughout the hospital and may be assigned to the level of care they were hired for, or a unit of lower acuity. The RN provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting for med/surg (General Practice Unit) area of interest. Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting for Progressive Care area of interest. Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting for Intensive Care area of interest. Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting for Maternal Child Health area of interest. Willingness to float to multiple locations across the System (unless selecting Jackson Hospital). Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS, NRP, EFM, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS where required.
