| Posting Summary |
The Department of Environmental Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research on applied climatology. The this position will work within the Shope Applied Climatology Lab to evaluate multiple climate and climate change impacts across sectors such as sea-level rise/coastal processes, urban heat and health, or agricultural impacts. This position offers the candidate opportunity to shape a desired area of focus within the applied climatology framework. Successful candidates will be involved in field sampling, numerical/statistical modeling of hazards/impacts, and outreach to local stakeholders. Candidates will disseminate research findings through manuscripts, academic presentations, and public engagement. As a postdoctoral associate, the candidate will have the opportunities and the expectation to interact and collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues across Rutgers and work with local stakeholders. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in an area relevant to climatology, geoscience, climate change, natural hazards, impact analysis, and/or numerical modeling. |

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a publication record consistent with career level, and an interest in applying climate and climate change data to answer practical and relevant research questions. Experience in modeling and/or evaluating the impacts of climate and climate change, data analysis and interpretation, and independent research is required. Specific expertise in climate and climate change-related topics may vary, such as sea-level rise, coastal processes, urban heat, climate and health, agricultural impacts, among others. |
