RSCH Core Facilities Job Description
The Electron Microscopy Core at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce the opening of a Scientist. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Scientist are to ensure the reliable operations of HRTEM, FIB-SEM instruments; provide expertise and training for the research groups in the entire UM system that needs high level TEM imaging and spectroscopy data analysis; develop the cutting-edge microscopy techniques to help the PIs succeed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Troubleshoots and maintains the high-end transmission electron microscope (TEM) and FIB-SEM Successful candidates will have exceptional organizational and time management skills. Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. occasional nights and weekends Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, with five plus years of experience relevant to electron microscopy characterization and nanoscience. Anticipated Hiring Range
