     | Essential Job Duties | Working under the general supervision of the Clinical Research Core Manager, this position supports the operation of the Clinical Research Core (
       CRC) and any clinical studies that utilize the services that the core provides. This will include support the following duties: Job Duties: 
       
 Start IVs and blood draws from IVs following clinical best practices for bloodborne pathogens and SOPsCollect and process human specimens including but not limited to blood, urine, stool, and saliva. This includes but is not limited to centrifuging, aliquoting, and sample storageCompile data from study equipment and record lab results in participant filesMaintain study records according to study protocols and HIPPA regulationsHandle participant recruitment, eligibility screenings, and informed consentPerform anthropometric and clinical measurements including but not limited to blood pressure, height, and weightMay assist in coordinating the daily operations of the Clinical Research CoreMay train and/or supervise other technicians in laboratory processing techniquesMay assist with metabolic kitchen maintenance in conjunction with Kitchen Manager

 Experience with and comfortable in placing, assessing, and managing IVs for purposes of repeated blood collection. If no IVs experience, we are willing train individuals with excellent phlebotomy skillsAbility to work independently, possibly as the only licensed or certified staff onsite during study visits (additional study staff and management available to support non-medical activities)CITI certification or willingness to complete training upon hire
Currently licensed or certified in the State of North Carolina as a Paramedic LPN, or RNEarly mornings, evenings, and weekends shifts may be required
