The Inclusive Care Clinic (ICC) in the Department of Population Oral Health in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking candidates with experience in serving patients with disabilities to fill several hourly faculty positions. The ICC serves patients with disabilities 15 years and older, with a particular emphasis on providing comfortable, competent care for neuro-diverse patients (e.g., patients with autism spectrum disorders, psychiatric, and behavioral conditions) and those who otherwise experience challenges receiving dental care. The goals of this clinic are - a) to provide clinical opportunities to gain experience working with patients with special needs b) to provide unmet special care services and c) to provide clinical research opportunities. Faculty members will serve as educators, mentors, and supervising clinicians and will be involved in program development and didactic and clinical teaching in the pre-doctoral dental curriculum. The faculty members will report and work closely with the Director of the Inclusive Care Clinic. Minimum qualifications include a DDS/DMD or equivalent. An active dental license and/or be eligible for full licensure in Illinois. General Practice Residency (GPR) or equivalent experience highly preferred.1 year experience in providing clinical care and instruction in the treatment of patients with medically complex conditions, acquired, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and other specialized healthcare needs in an outpatient clinical setting and 1 year experience in evidenced-based dentistry, curriculum development and interprofessional education are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and effectively manage the unique needs of special needs patients.
