Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Communications Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Herndon, VA with some remote work possible. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative will modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework to better support the services provided to CA's customers.

As part of the modernization program, the Communications Analyst will support the development and execution of the internal and external communications strategy for the organization to ensure operational efficiency. This role will work closely with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to ensure that all communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company's goals and values. Excellent writing skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and strong communications will be essential to this position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Participate in the research, development, and execution of comprehensive, integrated communications and engagement strategies for large-scale transformations inclusive of organizational changes and process/technology modernization.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams and team members to increase efficiencies and enhance the quality and impact of strategic communications.
  • Support the identification and solutioning for communication and engagement risks and challenges.
  • Assist with the development of feedback strategies to measure communication effectiveness; support identifying feedback mechanisms, defining success metrics, analyzing collected data, and presenting results.
  • Draft and edit communications across multiple channels, such as presentations, FAQs, SOPs, talking points, feedback surveys/scripts, announcements, and website content.
  • Develop executive level briefings leveraging an advanced knowledge of developing graphical products in MS PowerPoint.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings and presentations, including creating agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items/owners.
  • Assist the OCM team with change activities, including stakeholder assessments, change impact analyses, organizational readiness initiatives, change management strategies, communication deliverables, and engagement tracking.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum two (2) years of recent, relevant work experience related to Strategic Communications, Content Development, Stakeholder Engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience leveraging PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, WordPress, and Microsoft Teams to assist in implementing established work plans, articulating complex issues, analyzing data, and executing communication activities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and effectively manage relationships with stakeholders, senior management, and staff working independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of success in delivering client services in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated success developing communication products that are timely, accurate, high-quality, and aligned with the organization's standards.
  • Must be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and leading practices with previous experience with large scale organizational change efforts.
  • Experience working in a federal IT related industry.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design or multimedia tools.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
