Summary of Job Duties:The Supply Technician Lead actively participates in the Central Supply work force and leads/instructs Supply Technicians in the daily completion of supply restocking duties. Also, provides relief supervision in the absence of the CS Supervisor.

1.) Actively participates in the inventory, filling and restocking of supply par areas on Nursing and/or Surgical units. Displays proficiency when using the Pyxis computerized restocking process; completes par level assignments in allocated amount of time. Practices stock rotation, removal of outdated supplies and cycle counting of supplies to ensure accuracy of counts. Receives and stocks supplies in Central Supply as assigned and/or as needed.

2.) Provides relief supervision in the absence of the Supervisor (Clinical Tech III). Trains and leads Clinical Tech I's in the proper restocking of nursing/surgical supply areas, maintenance of supply areas and Central Supply; ensures that daily work assignments are given and completed. Counsels employees and makes disciplinary recommendations to the Supervisor as needed.

3.) Trains all Clinical Tech I's in proper department procedures; documents training with all new employees; follows up to ensure employee competency and advises Supervisor on employee performance.

4.) Staffs the Central Supply dispatch window as assigned; issues and records supply that are sent via pick up, delivery or tube system; greets visitors quickly and courteously; answers phone inquiries and assists as needed; issues out procedure trays and carts and records the issuance. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED or formal educational equivalent and six months experience in supply distribution preferably in healthcare environment plus 2 years previous experience in stocking supplies and/ or supervisory experience.

  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability.
  • Requires ability to learn through on the job training during the probationary period.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in use of automated supply cabinets during probation period.
