Join the Johns Hopkins Hospital team and become part of a patient-centered, interprofessional, collaborative work environment at a world renowned, Magnet designated academic medical facility. The Clinical Nurse Specialist practices as an expert in the application of the nursing process and theory within a specialty area. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to advance patient care directly in the role of expert clinical practitioner and indirectly in the roles of educator, consultant, researcher, change agent, collaborator, clinical leader, role model, and patient advocate. This CNS will provide clinical oversight of Ambulatory Oncology services and will collaborate with patients, care partners, health care professionals and service providers to ensure seamless, quality care across the continuum.
The Johns Hopkins Hospital Ambulatory Oncology Infusion Clinics include a hematologic malignancy clinic containing 26 infusion treatment chairs, which is adjacent to a 12-bed Oncology urgent care staffed by Nurse Practitioners and RNs. A second solid tumor clinic contains 38 infusion treatment chairs. These two Ambulatory Oncology Infusion Clinics offer standard of care chemotherapy and immunotherapy as well as integrated clinical research. Additional services include nursing telephone triage and an Ambulatory Clinical Evaluation (ACE) nursing team. The ACE team is responsible for preparing patients for their upcoming infusion visits to minimize wait times and improve the patient experience. Other innovative services in Ambulatory Oncology include Oncology curbside clinics, phlebotomy and central line vascular access clinics, and a bone marrow/lumbar puncture procedure service that performs conscious sedation. All of these services are located at our East Baltimore Campus as part of our NCI-designated Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Shifts: Monday through Friday, 8 hr. Days Qualifications:
Salary Range: Minimum 56.34/hour - Maximum 87.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
