Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in the manufacturing plants. They ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and reliably to minimize production downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues. This involves using precision measuring and testing instruments to locate and repair faults.
- Inspections and Diagnostics: Regularly inspect machinery for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction. Run diagnostic tests to identify problems and determine the necessary course of repair.
- Equipment Installation: Install and dismantle industrial machinery according to layout plans and blueprints.
- Component Replacement: Remove and replace defective parts, such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and electrical units. May also fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs performed, and parts replaced.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company and OSHA safety standards and regulations, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and provide mechanical information or updates on repairs.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency through root cause analysis
Shift: 6:00 pm-6:15 am (2-2-3 schedule rotation)
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
Experience Level
- Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various temperature conditions.
- Knowledge of food safety standards preferred
