The Procurement Specialist I, reports into the Manger of Procurement Operations of the Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS), and will assist in the purchasing of products, chemicals, drugs and non-capital supplies. This includes activities such as daily order management, handling confirmations, replenishing inventories, notifying contract teams of changes to products and assisting in the resolution of pricing and product issues. The position will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of the purchase order including confirmation of receipt of order at the supplier, ascertainment of purchase order line statuses and the catalog of anticipated order receipt dates. The position will be responsible for communicating backordered lines to the original requestor and shall serve as a bridge for supply shortage mitigation between the requestor, value analysis and inventory planning. The position will be expected to manage all exceptions in the health system's electronic data interchange platform, the Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX).

The Procurement Specialist troubleshoots and resolves errors that occur along the procurement process through identifying the correct stakeholders and seeing the solution thru to the successful procurement of the product/service. The Procurement Specialist also expedites, cancels/defers and ensures that purchase orders are aligned to support customer needs. The role will serve as a liaison between the customer and suppliers, building and maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships. The procurement process should at all times be aligned with the vision for the future of Supply Chain, namely, sourcing the best quality products at the best price, treating customers with service orientation and focusing on supply chain excellence internally

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree required. Supply Chain, Healthcare or Business-related degree preferred.


Work Experience:



  • Minimum of 6 months procurement experience required.


Required Licensure Certification, etc:



  • GHX proficiency within first 6 months. LinkedIn Learning Excel based training within first 90 days.


Skills:



  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to navigate and prioritize issues across systems including SAP, GHX and Service Now
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills to build and maintain strong team, customer and vendor relationships
  • Able to troubleshoot various Supply Chain related problems by identifying the right stakeholder and seeing issues thru to resolution
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Quick learner and willingness to develop in the supply chain department of JHHS


Salary Range: Minimum 26.12/hour - Maximum 43.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
