POSITION SUMMARY

The Guest Experience Specialist is responsible for managing post-departure guest communication, primarily through the guest survey platform and the guest service email inbox. This role ensures timely, professional, and thoughtful follow-up with guests to enhance satisfaction and loyalty. While the focus is on digital communication, the Guest Experience Specialist may also engage directly with guests when more personalized service recovery is needed. This position will also fill Ambassador duties that include in-person guest service approximately 1 day per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide timely and professional communication to guests through the guest survey platform and the guest services email inbox email
  • Apply creativity and problem solving to overcome obstacles
  • Coordinate guest survey response teams and make sure teams are responding to guest surveys to ensure response goals are met
  • Role modeling behavioral expectations of the Steamboat Culture and Key Expectations.
  • Confidently develop relationships with departmental managers to provide feedback on the Guest Experience
  • Provide timely and actionable performance feedback to frontline staff
  • Work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Fill Ambassador Duties as assigned by manager. Ambassador's duties include: Assist guests in a courteous and professional manner in all areas of the base area, on the mountain and all areas of the resort, Attend Ambassador orientation and training prior to opening day
  • Support all Steamboat Ski & Resort departments with guest crowding and disseminating operational information with emphasis on Lift Ops, Parking and Transportation Centers, Food and Beverage and Retail/Rental
  • Work at all Guest Service stations including: the Welcome Center and Lost and Found on mountain terrain, lift lines and lodges, parking lots, shuttle buses, and the transportation center
  • Assist Ski Patrol as needed
  • Gather and disseminate mountain condition information to the public and other departments
  • Provide support with special events and ski groups throughout the season
  • Meet and greet guests daily
  • Provide up to date product information to guests
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years of previous customer service experience required. Preference given to those who have experience in the Tourism/Hospitality industries
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Must work well under own supervision
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies
  • Qualified candidates are professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and have a strong ability to resolve Issues
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • College Degree preferred


The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Resort hourly pay range: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Primarily indoor working environment, with 1-2 days outside in all winter weather conditions for a prolonged period
  • Will be required to work across the resort
  • Safely lift approximately up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must stand for long periods of time and walk 1-2 miles/shift
