DUTIES Prepare and review design standards and procedures. Prepare construction installation specifications and details. Prepare procurement specifications and bid analysis. Review and approve Design Change Forms. Resolve existing design discrepancies with the most cost effective approach to meet design criteria. Initiate Design Change Forms and coordinate with Subcontractors or other responsible group for approval/incorporation. Provide dispositions to Nonconformance Reports and Field Problem Memos by determining a solution to the condition which will satisfy design criteria. Perform inspections by facilities, systems, or components as required for proper evaluation of conditions. Review construction Experience/Skills: Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, construction methods, and relevant computer applications. Applies advanced principles and practices in engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner. Continued updating on new technologies and hardware in the industry is necessary. OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional Duties Candidate must demonstrate 10 years work experience as an Electrical Designer, including experience with Equipment Layout, Grounding, Raceway Layout, Lighting Systems, and Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Census Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, construction methods, and relevant computer applications.
Applies advanced principles and practices in engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner.

Candidate must demonstrate 10 years work experience as an Electrical Designer, including experience with Equipment Layout, Grounding, Raceway Layout, Lighting Systems, and Schematics, Connection and Wiring Diagrams.
Significant experience using 2D-Microstation and Hexagon's S3D software, is required.
Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Census Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA.
Candidate must have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail.
Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred. |
