 The Manager, Gift Shop and Retail Services ("Manager") under minimal supervision, directs and supervises all activites of hte giuft shop including but not limited to any branch entitiles within the DHHA Cammpaus. Direvelop, direct and supervise the retail services into profit centers.
 
 Essential Functions:
 
 Inventory Management and Control* Determine what is to be purchased and effectively sold in the gift shop(s) and were to purchase the items. Manage effectively the selection and ordering of merchandise as well as display for effective selling.
 * Responsible for processing payments in a timely manner
 * Insure the protection and control of assets. Perform duties according to accepted accounting practices. Follow procedures and insure adequate controls are in place to satisfy audit requirements. Maintain sound inventory control procedures to maximize sales and profitability.
 * Must be flexible in working with other departments such as the Healthy Hospital Compact to ensure Denver Health is able to reach goals.
 * Establish work practices to maximize sales and maintain internal controls. Utilize Lean techniques and problem solving skills to increase productivity, minimize waste and maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency
 * Able to move inventory to and from warehouse located off site. Able to place orders online and then go to location and confirm the order and pay for it before the Denver Health truck arrives to pick up. An example would be the food and beverage order placed at Sam's.

Personnel Management* Recruit and hire paid staff.
 * Orient, train and manage all staff at all locations. Develop staff schedules. Perform annual staff performance evaluations and weekly PMI with staff as well as the completion of AIDET.
 * Possess knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in applying Human Resources policies and procedures as they relate to progressive disciplines, grievances, conflict resolution, time and attendance and personnel management.

Actively participate with Materials Management/Supply Chain Management Team including but not limited to attending management team meetings, supports other MM departments and fostering a collegial, collaborative work environment. (10%) Education: 
 High School Diploma or GED required Work Experience: 
 Five years of Retail Management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience of seven years requiredor5 Years of Inventory Management experience AND 1 year of personnel supervisory experience requiredor7 Years of Inventory and Sales Management experience required Licenses:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
 Knowledge in computer-based Point of Sales systems, retail trends not limited to gifts, food, patient needs and support in a hospital environment. Knowledge in small business operations including purchasing, buying, pricing, displaying merchandise, retail marketing, inventory control, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, employee schedules, recruitment, budget and open to buy processes.Inventory control Awareness of current retail tax laws and percentages to collectProficiency in Excel, Word, Point of Sale systems, copy and fax machines as well phone system.Excellent written and verbal communication with management, staff and customers a must.
