Supports pediatric residents by performing administrative duties related to patient care on inpatient services, ensuring quality of care for pediatric patient population and their families.
Essential Functions:
- Participates in daily rounds, facilitates communication between staff and parents improving the patient care experience.
- Schedules testing appointments, completes prior authorizations, FMLA paperwork, including obtaining test results and patient records from primary care providers and referring hospitals.
- Facilitates timely discharge by initiating after visit summary ensuring all appointments, referrals and prescription requests have been completed and resolves any scheduling issues prior to discharge.
- Performs monitoring of patient charts for required signatures including general consents, advanced directives, and secures signatures as appropriate.
- Provides support to residents in the use of WOW and other department specific information technology. Maintains confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
Education Requirement:
- Two years of college coursework, or equivalent experience, required.
- Associate'sDegree, preferred.

- Six months of experience in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting, required.
- Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.
