JOB PURPOSE: The Fitness Coordinator is a fitness professional who focuses on improving the physical and nutritional wellness of the Health & Wellness clients by determining the client's goals and creating a routine the client can follow to meet their goals. They may work individually with clients and may also teach fitness classes. The Fitness Coordinator will also ensure that fitness center operations comply with OSHA and other related operating and safety policies, programs, and instructions. The fitness coordinator will prepare standard operating written instructions and procedures concerning programs, operations, and safe use of equipment for the safety and well-being of all those authorized to use the facility. The fitness coordinator ensures proper operation and maintenance of exercise equipment, and that the facility is kept attractive and clean. They will also support fitness center programming needs, including class schedules to support the facility and fitness center. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field such as kinesiology, or exercise physiology. Relevant work experience can be used in place of degree. EXPERIENCE: Required two years of direct fitness programming, strength training, specialty certificates or training in Yoga, or Tai Chi. Experience working with first responder community. Preferred two to four years of progressively responsible experience in supervision of staff/program development. ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion. LICENSES: CPR and First Aid certification, personal training certification through ACE, NASM or ACSM. Driver's License with clear record. VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice. OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of themselves or others.
