As a Director, General Engineering supporting Fort Worth North Manufacturing, you will be trusted to work on leading a department within general engineering, focusing on technology trends, process design, and resolving engineering challenges. You will supervise projects, manage budgets, and collaborate on product feasibility and demand.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure departmental success and alignment with company goals
  • Analyze technology trends and design new processes, modifying and improving existing ones
  • Evaluate and resolve issues related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering
  • Plan and execute projects
  • Manage project and operational budgets and supervise contractors
  • Establish engineering standards and budgetary controls
  • Introduce new or modified equipment, tools, software, and systems
  • Confer with others to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand for products
  • Make key decisions within the department, managing resources and approving projects
  • Foster a culture of excellence by leading performance management, driving talent development, and enhancing employee engagement and recognition
  • Lead and direct teams, developing and implementing strategies for success
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing training
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to overall organizational compliance
  • Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs.; Assoc.+14 yrs.; M.S.+7 yrs.; PhD+6 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
