The Field Support Center in Tucker, Georgia serves each GMS location, providing the support needed to enable local teams to deliver outstanding service to contractors and builders in their local communities.

Position Summary:


We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Strategic Finance Analyst to join our growing finance team here at GMS. The Strategic Finance Analyst's responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a Strategic Finance analyst, this individual will also be responsible for using data to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk, or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment. Beyond the monthly responsibilities, this position will also work on ad hoc projects relating to process optimization, competitive analysis, and market research.



Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Performs quantitative analysis of operational and financial data
  • Prepares financial reports for internal use by collecting, analyzing, formatting, and presenting information and acting as a liaison between the regional businesses and senior leadership
  • Executes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting along with variance analysis including preparation of financial reports and presentations for key regional and senior stakeholders
  • Builds and maintains statistical/financial databases and reports
  • Assists with corporate-level ad hoc projects and ensure completion in a timely manner in addition to executing core responsibilities
  • Acquires deep knowledge and understanding of company's business performance and display confidence reporting to Finance Leadership
  • Participates & helps lead long range planning, capital planning and operating budget



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerBI and SAP, Oracle, or related financial systems
  • Working knowledge of OneStream is a plus
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies and concepts
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner

Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
