Job Description
*The EHS Internship is planned for summer 2026 and is designed as a structured rotation through Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Compliance & Chemical Safety, and Product Stewardship teams to gain a full perspective on EHS responsibilities at Promega. JOB OBJECTIVE: Supports Promega's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team by assisting with program updates, compliance activities, and day-to-day operations. This role provides hands-on experience in the practical side of workplace safety and environmental stewardship, contributing to Promega's vision of a safe and sustainable workplace. CORE DUTIES: 1. Assist with the review and updating of Promega's safety and environmental programs. 2. Conduct research and gather data to support compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. 3. Maintain and organize EHS documentation, reports, and records. 4. Participate in safety inspections and audits with EHS staff to identify opportunities for improvement. 5. Assist with incident report tracking and analysis to support root cause investigations and analyze metrics. 6. Support EHS communication and employee awareness activities including newsletters, presentations, engagement campaigns, and trainings. 7. Respond to internal and external customer requests related to compliance and safety. 8. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity, and respect for others. 9. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work. 10. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A current student pursuing a 2 or 4-year degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. 2. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 4. Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI tools to support and drive utilization within department, fostering innovation and integration into workflows. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Previous experience in biotechnology, laboratory, or other science-related environments. 2. Demonstrated interest in occupational safety or environmental protection. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use a computer and related applications for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to move objects up to 30 pounds as needed. 3. Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) required for specific tasks.
