Position: CNC Grinder Operator - Rotor Machining What You'll Do

As a CNC Grinder Operator in our Rotor Machining department, you'll play a critical role in producing high-precision components that power our innovative building systems. You'll work with advanced CNC equipment, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and help maintain our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate one or more CNC grinders to machine rotor components.
  • Write or edit CNC programs and manage tooling for assigned work centers.
  • Solve job-related challenges with minimal supervision.
  • Meet or exceed tight tolerances and surface finish requirements using precision measuring tools.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and reference materials.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments before and during production.
  • Participate in machine data collection and quality tracking processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, quality, quantity, and inventory.
  • Assign grinding order priorities and manage product flow.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate in team initiatives such as Kaizen events, 5S programs, and problem-solving exercises.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and job hazard risk assessments (JHRAs).
What You Bring
  • Experience operating CNC grinding equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to participate in team-based improvement efforts.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, sitting: up to 8 hours/day
  • Lifting: up to 35 lbs
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, climbing
  • Continuous use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation
