POSITION SUMMARY

The Practice Assistant provides high-quality administrative support in the office and is responsible for a wide range of administrative and organizational tasks. This position provides direct support to attorneys who require on-site assistance and will work alongside Practice Coordinators to support attorney and client needs. This interactive position requires the ability to receive, assess, prioritize, and execute tasks in a timely and effective manner. It requires a high level of attention to detail, responsiveness, critical thinking skills, and professionalism.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative services support to attorneys with a focus on tasks requiring on-site execution and in person interaction with attorneys and legal support staff.
  • Work closely with Practice Coordinators on litigation and transactional practice matters, billing, case management, and business development activities.
  • Scan and distribute documents; collect and organize case and deal related documents for attorneys.
  • Assist with in-office meeting logistics and preparation, submitting expense reports, and attorney time entry.
  • Perform basic word processing tasks include formatting, editing, and revising documents in Microsoft Word.
  • Receive, assess, and prioritize projects and tasks - execute or delegate as appropriate.
  • Provide clear and timely communication on project and task status and confirm upon completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One + year of administrative support experience required.
  • This is an in-office role and will be expected to be in the office at least 4 days per week.

SALARY

New York based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $60,000 - $70,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
