The Supplier Quality Engineer will interface with the supplier base and cross functional business units to qualify new suppliers, new parts, resolve nonconformities, and drive continuous process and product improvements.  Assess supplier performance by performing analytical analysis and reporting findings with recommendations for improvementEstablish regular contact mechanisms with current suppliers and potential new suppliers regarding projects, self-assessments, qualifications, and supplier on-site audit planningResponsible for assessing potential new suppliers and making recommendations based on thorough vetting processesResponsible for issuing supplier level corrective actions (SCARs) and assisting suppliers in implementing the corrective actionsAct as the representative for quality during new product development and supplier transition projectsResponsible for identifying PPAP levels and PPAP approvalResponsible for managing multiple projects ensuring project milestones are achievedSupplier Change Request engagement as required to support supplier changesOther duties are requiredSome travel may be required up to 15% domestic and international What's in it for you:

 The typical salary for this position ranges from $74,200-$120,700 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
