JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine, in Hershey, PA AHEC is hiring a wage payroll position to provide 10-20 hours per week of advance project management support. This person will be hired as part of the PA AHEC team supervised by Project Director Dr. Benjamin Fredrick, Department of Family and Community Medicine. The proposed position will include a variety of responsibilities related to Community Health Worker, Apprenticeship, Pre-Apprenticeship, and other workforce related programs. This position will require experience with program enrollment and retention, data collection and analysis, invoice and budget tracking, and collaboration with both internal and external partners.

The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree and demonstrate advanced program management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects efficiently in a part-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder communications effectively.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and troubleshoot project challenges.
  • Monitor project performance and prepare progress reports for sponsors and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with grant policies, guidelines, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, project management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in advanced program/project management, preferably in healthcare or health administration.
  • Strong proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and customer relationship management systems (CRM).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a flexible, part-time role.
