Do you have strong relationships with top-tier global/US media and a knack for securing high-impact earned media coverage? Can you craft award-winning submissions that position a company and its leadership as an industry leader in Fast Company, Forbes, Fortune, TIME, and other prestigious media outlets? If so, we want you on our Global External Communications team in Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group (IDG).

The Intelligent Devices Group is Lenovo's largest business group, covering a broad portfolio that includes:

We're looking for a PR manager to help shape our narrative and amplify our portfolio innovation, business transformation, and industry leadership for Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group.

The Role

We seek a strategic and hands-on PR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Relations & PR Thought Leadership

  • Leverage data and analysis to develop and deliver strategic PR coverage that position Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group as a leader in its field across AI, innovation, and business transformation

  • Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships across consumer, business, broadcast, and tech sectors - pitching and securing bold feature stories in high-profile media publications and broadcast outlets

  • Amplify earned media stories across owned and social media for greater impact

Award-Winning Content Development

  • Lead the strategy and execution of high-profile industry award submissions, ensuring Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group's achievements are recognized for their innovation and leadership across relevant categories

  • Craft compelling, data-driven storytelling for award entries, leveraging business milestones, technology breakthroughs, and executive vision

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across functions to develop supporting materials, including case studies and success narratives

Issues Communications Preparedness

  • Monitor potential reputational risks, proactively identify emerging issues, and develop mitigation strategies to protect Lenovo's brand and its Intelligent Devices Group's business interests

  • Lead rapid response efforts during crises, developing and executing real-time communication plans to manage media narratives and stakeholder concerns

  • Serve as a key media liaison for crisis-related inquiries, ensuring Lenovo's position is clearly articulated and accurately represented

  • Provide counsel to senior leadership on sensitive communications, preparing executive talking points, internal briefings, and public statements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with global product PR, analyst relations, thought leadership, marketing, corporate and local communications teams

  • Align PR strategy with business objectives and executive priorities, as well as align PR tactics with broader stakeholders

  • Partner with agencies and external stakeholders to amplify key messages and maximize media impact

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a hands-on, media-savvy PR professional with a deep understanding of the tech industry, popular culture, and the evolving media landscape. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of securing top-tier press coverage, earning industry accolades, and managing issues communications-all through their own expertise rather than agency support. This role requires someone who can proactively build and leverage media relationships, craft compelling narratives, and navigate fast-moving news cycles to elevate Lenovo's brand and Intelligent Devices Group's visibility and reputation through direct engagement and strategic execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field

  • 7+ years of PR experience (in-house or agency), preferably in tech

  • Native English writer (writing samples required)

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel - ability to create compelling PR decks and reports

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong media relationships with influential journalists and editors (independent of agency support)

  • Exceptional writing skills - must be able to craft compelling narratives and executive messaging (independent of agency support)

  • Strategic thinker and hands-on executor - comfortable leveraging data to inform decisions/actions, and in rolling up your sleeves in a lean team environment

  • Experience in high-impact storytelling for media and award submissions (independent of agency support)

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, global organization

  • Confident communicator with executive presence - comfortable engaging with senior leadership

  • Culturally agile - able to work effectively across international teams and time zones

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $107k-140K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
