Job Overview

The Shop Helper supports daily operations in component manufacturing by assisting machinists, welders, painters, and machine operators. This position helps ensure smooth workflow throughout the shop by handling materials, preparing parts, maintaining a clean environment, and providing general assistance as needed.


Responsibilities
  • Assist machinists, welders, painters, and machine operators with material handling and preparation.
  • Load and unload raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components.
  • Operate basic hand tools and shop equipment under supervision.
  • Move parts and materials between workstations as directed.
  • Perform basic cleaning, grinding, or surface preparation of parts prior to machining, welding, or painting.
  • Maintain shop organization by sweeping, disposing of scrap, staging materials, and restocking supplies.
  • Perform routine quality checks such as measuring, counting, or visually inspecting parts.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support other general shop duties as assigned by supervisors.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to work in a production shop environment (noise, dust, heat, paint fumes).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn to operate shop equipment safely.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to contribute to team success.

Preferences
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, welding, machining, or industrial painting environments.
  • Experience using forklifts, overhead cranes, or material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in skilled trades or manufacturing.


Travel & Work Arrangements
  • On-site position based in Tulsa, OK.
  • No travel required.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required by management.
