SUMMARY Applies software engineering and scrum principles to lead the design and creation of new technologies that are widely used either by internal or external teams. Leads the design, development, and testing of software applications. Works with the team to accomplish tasks and contribute to team success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads the design, development, testing and implementation of business software applications.

Defines new features for a system and works with the team to improve and implement them.

Develops features that involve interaction between multiple layers of a system.

Evaluates enhancement request and generates unit and/or user interface tests to validate functionality.

Proactively owns system operation and monitoring to improve user experience.

Actively involved in code reviews and provides insightful guidance about coding standards and implementation.

Analyzes the overall scrum process and develops new ways to improve on the process.

Participates in retrospective discussions, identifies takeaways, and integrates feedback into future improvements.

Takes initiative to learn new and existing software technologies and tools.

Proactively supports team members by collaborating on tasks and identifying ways to improve team success.

Mentors team members to promote career growth, a positive team culture, and reinforce best practices.

Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.

Provides ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in computer technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Four (4) or more years of professional software development experience using coding languages

Experience with C#

Experience with Angular preferred

Experience with cloud hosting environments especially Azure preferred

Experience Unit Testing preferred

Experience with Infrastructure as Code preferred

Experience designing service oriented software components

Experience working in agile team environments using scrum processes

Experience in the Insurance industry and financial services preferred

SKILLS

Knowledge of techniques used in software applications

Good verbal and written communication skills

Good problem solving and time management skills

Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail

Thorough understanding of object oriented programming including design patterns

Proficient in Version Control - Git

Proficient in Visual Studio/VS Code

Proficient in Azure DevOps/GitHub

Proficient in Microsoft Suite
