Full-Time, FTE 1.0, 40 hrs. I First Shift
BHCOR-Radiology Diagnostic I Corbin, KY

Baptist Health Imaging services include Inpatients, emergency patients, as well as Outpatients. The procedures and imaging provided are as follows but are not limited to: Diagnostic Procedures: Hysterosalpingogram, Nephrostogram, Arthrograms, Sinograms, Pyelograms, Cystograms, Barium Studies, Portable X-Ray and Fluoroscopy, and all Routine Radiographic Exams.

Provides health care services by applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis. Performs Sonography procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a Radiologist or a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.

Job Description:

Ultrasound Technologist-Full-Time

Responsibility: Image Quality Assurance (20%)

  • Produce quality images for Radiologist review.

  • Record image release in EHR and verify PACS archiving.

  • Send images to tele-radiology after hours.

  • Participate in peer review and assist with ACR accreditation.

  • Support equipment/software selection.

Responsibility: Quality Control in Work Area (20%)

  • Restock supplies and report equipment issues.

  • Schedule maintenance and assist with EHR updates.

  • Monitor inventory and maintain equipment.

  • Stay current on regulatory standards.

Responsibility: Patient Care Duties (30%)

  • Verify orders and patient identity.

  • Document incidents and time-out procedures.

  • Follow protocols and provide initial interpretation.

  • Monitor patients and assist providers during exams.

Responsibility: Policies & Department Efficiency (20%)

  • Maintain professional conduct and teamwork.

  • Follow hospital policies and manage patient flow.

  • Train students and new employees.

Responsibility: Safety/Policy & Procedures (10%)

  • Adhere to dress code and safety guidelines.

  • Attend safety training and infection control programs.

  • Participate in fire and disaster drills.

Requirements:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)-(RDMS certification in Abdomen or Vascular within 1 year)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

  • ACLS

  • PALS
