Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a Volunteer Manager!

The person in this position will supervises and supports the Volunteer Services Departments operations and goals and is responsible for the placement, on-going education, evaluation, supervision, retention, recognition and regulatory management of direct patient family support volunteers

  • Manages approximately 40% of volunteers across Rust Medical Center and clinics, requiring occasional travel and the ability to work independently with virtual team support.

  • Provides excellent customer service to a diverse volunteer base, balancing organizational needs with individual support while maintaining boundaries and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • BA Degree in Management or related field required.
  • One to three years experience with non-paid staff preferred


Responsibilities

  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and manages a minimum of 100 volunteers across 20 departments. Responsibilities include scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, and resolving personnel issues with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinates volunteer training, continuing education, and support programs. Ensures compliance with screening, orientation, and documentation procedures in accordance with department policies, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards.

  • Designs and implements site-specific volunteer services, projects, and activities. Assists departments with volunteer placement and role matching, and sets growth goals using data from volunteer logs and departmental needs.

  • Serves as an advocate for volunteers within the organization, participates in site operations teams, and collaborates with peer management to enhance patient experience. Acts as liaison to Volunteer Services Board Members and Committee Members.

  • Supports community engagement through donation drives and volunteer appreciation events. Participates in professional organizations for benchmarking and skill development, and performs other functions as required.
