Developer Platform Consultant, Trimble Marketplace

Overview

Trimble is seeking a highly technical and customer-focused Developer Platform Consultant to play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant developer community and ensuring high-quality integrations within the Trimble ecosystem and Marketplace. Similar to successful platforms like the Procore Marketplace and Autodesk Marketplace, the Trimble Marketplace will serve as a central hub for discovering, promoting, and selling integrations and extensions that enhance the core Trimble product experience. This role will be instrumental in empowering third-party developers and creating a thriving ecosystem for buyers by providing technical guidance for Trimble products and APIs. You will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a best-in-class developer experience.

About the Role: As a Developer Platform Consultant for our Marketplace Program, you will be responsible for technically guiding and supporting developers throughout their integration journey with Trimble. You will be a key point of contact for external developers, providing consultation and expertise around the products and APIs within the Trimble ecosystem. You will use your technical expertise to identify opportunities to improve the integration process and solve complex technical problems. You will work closely with engineering, and product teams to ensure a seamless experience for external developers.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide technical guidance and support to third-party developers integrating with Trimble's products and APIs.

• Collaborate with Trimble subject matter experts on product capabilities and best practices

• Ensure that developers are empowered with the latest documentation, and specifications to connect to products within the Trimble ecosystem.

• Collaborate with Trimble product and engineering teams to define requirements for integration tools, SDKs, and API enhancements.

• Troubleshoot technical issues reported by developers during development process

• Foster a thriving community of partners and developers around the Trimble Marketplace by providing technical expertise and support.

• Monitor integration performance, analyze technical data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize the developer experience.

Required Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree.

• 5-8 years of previous experience in a technical role such as Integration Engineer, Solutions Architect, Developer Advocate, or a similar role focused on API integrations and developer support.

• Proven track record of successfully guiding developers through complex integration processes.

• Experience with end-to-end technical lifecycle management, from concept to deployment and iteration of integrations.

• Proficiency in defining technical requirements and creating detailed integration specifications.

• Ability to gather and analyze technical user feedback, translating it into actionable insights for the development team.

• Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable technical solutions.

• High level of comfort with technology and its development.

• Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

• Excellent technical documentation skills along with in-depth knowledge of API design and integration strategies.

• Experience creating detailed reports and presentations to senior executives and key stakeholders.

• Previous experience in collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop effective technical messaging and go-to-market strategies for integrations.

• A track record of successfully making and keeping commitments.

Compensation: Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
