Position Summary:

The Anatomy & Physiology Instructor will lead and deliver instruction for BIO 135, BIO 235, and BIO 236 courses, designed for Paramedic students. This role involves curriculum development, classroom and lab instruction, student assessment, and continuous improvement of course content to meet academic and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach and facilitate learning in the following subject areas:

  • Anatomical terminology and homeostasis
  • Cellular biology and tissue function
  • Skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems
  • Sensory organs (eye, ear) and perception
  • Endocrine, cardiovascular, immune, and respiratory systems
  • Digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems
  • Human development and aging
  • Evaluate student performance through cognitive and psychomotor assessments.
  • Maintain accurate educational records and grade reports.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure curriculum alignment with EMS training standards.
  • Participate in ongoing curriculum review and enhancement.
  • Uphold institutional policies and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Master's degree in Biology or related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching Anatomy & Physiology at the college level within the last five (5) years preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly to diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in evaluating student performance and adjusting instruction accordingly.
  • Capable of solving practical problems and interpreting technical materials.
  • Familiarity with professional journals, clinical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
