The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences, at the University of Arizona invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor of Practice in Animal Science. This is a 9-month, year-to-year, full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment (non-tenure-eligible). The position will involve 90% teaching and 10% service. Duties & Responsibilities |
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:
- Excellence in teaching
- Passion for innovation beyond the traditional classroom
- Commitment to service work required of all faculty
This position will be responsible for teaching 18 credits per academic year (some adjustment to this number may be made to account for large enrollment courses) in courses such as:
- ACBS 102 Introduction to Animal Science
- ACBS 102L Introduction to Animal Science Lab
- ACBS 202 Introduction to Livestock Production
- ACBS 477 Beef Resource Management
- ACBS 334 Principals of Animal Nutrition
- ACBS 336A Applied Animal Nutrition
- ACBS 409 Environmental Physiology of Domestic Animals
- ACBS 313 Animal Genetics

Minimum Qualifications |
- M.S. in Meat Science, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition or related field
- Experience working in an educational setting
- Prior experience in teaching in person or online university-level courses in Animal Science
- Prior experience using student centered learning techniques
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- PhD in Meat Science, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition or related field.
