Daikin Applied is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer. The Staff Electrical Engineer will serve as the technical leader of the design and application of power electronics, including VFDs, transformers, filters, and motors. They will be responsible for organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments, as well as researching, developing, designing, and testing high-voltage electrical components, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties. Location: Staunton, VA - Hybrid (on-site 4 days/week)

What you will do:

  • Design code and safety-compliant electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, domestic, and internal purposes

  • Design, direct, and supervise engineering personnel in the design and fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products

  • Develop applications of controls, instruments, and electrical systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses

  • Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements

  • Direct and coordinate the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field and internal installations

  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks including modeling and simulation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering

  • 14+ years of related experience

  • UL Electrical Standards and Regulations

  • Electrical Modeling and Simulation experience

  • Skilled in Engineering Processes such as DFMEA, DVP&R etc.

  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • HVAC industry experience

  • Experience with motor and VFD design

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $109,100-$183,200 + 15% bonusin Virginia. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
