Job Summary

Manages operations of a materials management unit, implementing systems, analyzing data and ensuring compliance. Manages staff using materials management techniques to maintain supplies.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $225,900 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Knowledge of the most current materials management best practices and systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant internal policy, external regulations, and best practices.
  • Leadership skills to motivate, coach and challenge team to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Ability to organize operations efficiently.
  • Skills to improve processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex, challenging environment.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility, anticipates and effectively handles change.
  • Ability to collaborate within and across departments to coordinate daily supply chain activities and resolve problems. Problem solving skills to address issues when no precedent exists and to develop creative alternatives.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, abilities to listen actively, persuade, advise, and counsel.
