Job Summary


This position involves the coordination of the materials management system throughout the medical center or health system, with regards to procurement, processing and distribution of materials and services. Ensures the efficient and cost effective acquisition of equipment and supplies throughout the medical center or health system

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The Per Diem Rate for this position is $37.72 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Strong communication skills; includes active listening and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with staff across departments and of all levels.
  • Productive in work volume, speed, quality, and consistency. Ability to manage multiple priorities, track all supplies and complete projects.
  • Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Effectively uses organization's automated materials management systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in materials management.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Thorough knowledge of materials management policies, regulatory requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of equipment and supplies managed and ability to install, assess, and monitor.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
