Description

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Content Specialist at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA. The work is primarily performed on-site with some flexibility for remote work when task appropriate. This is a highly interactive, people-to-people position requiring strong soft skills and the ability to communicate and connect with groups of people.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This Content Specialist will support our Leidos Demonstration Center, a customer-facing environment where advanced technologies and solutions are brought to life. This role focuses on shaping compelling, mission-relevant narratives that enhance demonstrations, executive briefings, and immersive experiences for government clients and stakeholders. Blending content strategy, technical writing, and creative collaboration, the Content Specialist will partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), designers, and growth professionals to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and impactful customer stories.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Strategic Storytelling & Narrative Development

  • Craft compelling content that aligns with the strategic objectives of customer demos, briefings, and immersive experiences.
  • Translate complex technical and mission-oriented information into accessible, audience-focused narratives.
  • Ensure consistency of tone, style, and messaging across all demonstration center engagements.

*Content Creation & Management

  • Develop scripts, storyboards, presentation materials, briefing documents, and other written content to support customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with multimedia designers and production specialists to integrate content into interactive experiences, graphics, and media.
  • Maintain a content library and knowledge repository for reuse and adaptation across programs.
  • Be able to produce planned engaging social media-style, short form content.

*Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with SMEs, designers, and growth teams to co-create engaging content that showcases solutions in a mission-relevant context.
  • The ability to understand your target audience, analyze metrics and feedback, and adjust content strategy to build and maintain community.
  • Participate in strategy sessions to identify customer priorities and shape content accordingly.
  • Support rehearsals, run-throughs, and live customer engagements with content alignment and real-time adjustments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Technical Writing, Marketing, or related field, and 8+ years of prior work history; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in content development, storytelling, or technical writing.
  • Intermediate-level skills with standard graphic design programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva; familiarity with Content Management Systems.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex technical and mission concepts into clear, concise, and engaging narratives.
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation development skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing content.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting government clients or mission-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with multimedia production processes and working with designers/graphics teams.
  • Advanced skill sets in graphic design programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of proposal writing, capture support, or growth/BD environments.
  • Working knowledge of relevant video software in Adobe CC.
