Job Summary

The Staff Research Associate (SRA) will provide senior-level experience to the MR Bram Imaging Research Group. The SRA will provide leadership in the Bram Research staff team with the potential to provide training for more Junior staff and to monitor progress on specific projects provide data management and Integration of data from a complex variety of UCSF and multi-center studies (for example correlate in vivo MR data ex vivo MR spectroscopy of biopsy samples and histological assessments of patients with brain tumors) participate in preparation of scientific articles abstracts and posters oversee the training of more Junior team members as requested assist with systems that ensure the studies follow recommendations of the CHR Quality Insurance Unit and perform other duties as assigned

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $30.89 - $49.68 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The UCSF Department of Radiology Imaging IT team architects, implements, and manages the computer systems and networks needed to support more than 700,000 imaging studies annually. Our team manages the full stack from network to application and end user support. The team provide Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm support including evening and weekend call to support the Medical Center needs.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS with a degree in a related science and two or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position and demonstrating technical expertise in these areas; and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Advanced experience in an academic research laboratory setting functioning with substantial independence or as a Lab Manager
• Ability to manage and analyze research and clinical data or related hands-on research experience
• Ability to produce reports with tables and graphs representing scientific findings and to contribute to the development of research articles
• Ability to understand and insure implementation of Quality Assurance Unit recommendations for monitoring studies
• Excellent communication skills and evidence of good interpersonal judgment and discretion ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated record of reliability and excellent attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• MR Research Laboratory experience
• 5+years of advanced experience in an academic research laboratory setting functioning with substantial independence or as a Lab Manager
• Research experience at UCSF and / or other University setting
