INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ANALYST

Infrastructure Support Analyst supports and maintains our hybrid IT environment, which includes both on-premises Windows systems and cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure, supporting internal users, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on system improvements and projects.

Qualifications:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure in a hybrid environment
  • 1+ years of experience in Networking
  • 1+ year(s) with Desktop support, ideally in a hybrid environment
  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022)
  • Experience with Azure services including VMs, virtual networks, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Nutanix, Hyper-V or VMware)
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools


Preferred:



  • 4+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure in a hybrid environment
  • 2-4+ years of experience in Networking
  • 2-4+ year(s) with Desktop support, ideally in a hybrid environment
  • Certifications in CompTIA Network+ and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) & fundamentals related to TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs
  • Nutanix or VMware Certifications & fundamentals related to Nutanix, Hyper-V or VMware
  • Familiarity with endpoint management using Intune and/or SCCM

  • M365 Administration: Configures and supports Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to maximize user productivity and collaboration.
  • Documentation & Communication: Produces clear technical documentation and communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination: Works closely with support, security, and engineering teams to resolve issues and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Change Control & Operational Excellence: Implements changes following ITIL and operational procedures, balancing innovation with risk management.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Applies structured, data-driven analysis to troubleshoot and improve system performance.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

System Administration & Support



  • Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Support and maintain virtual infrastructure (Nutanix AHV & Hyper-V) and cloud-hosted servers (Azure).
  • Monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.


Cloud Infrastructure Support



  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID and Azure VMs.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Manage device compliance and endpoint configuration using Microsoft Intune.


Security & Compliance



  • Implement and enforce access controls based on least-privilege principles.
  • Monitor and respond to infrastructure-related security alerts.
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with organizational security policies and latest patches.


Backup & Disaster Recovery



  • Support and maintain backup and recovery solutions (Rubrik, Azure Backup).
  • Participate in testing, documentation, and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.


Collaboration & Documentation



  • Partner with Help Desk, Network, and IS teams to resolve escalated issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.


Other Duties



  • Collaborate with the IT to support shared goals.
  • Represent McGough professionally at company and industry events.
  • Attend meetings and pursue ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in Lean events and initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and project success.

Office and Travel:

Travel between office sites in the Twin Cities may be necessary to support the different office locations, so a good, reliable vehicle is required. Outstate travel may be necessary to satellite office locations.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at the employees' workstation and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
