SUMMARY As the Learning & Development Manager for Mortenson's craft team members, you are responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of learning solutions that directly enhance and develop craft team member skills. This role focuses on developing and enhancing the foundational and advanced skills necessary for construction excellence, safety, quality, and productivity, while fostering a culture of continuous learning that empowers team members at every career stage to master essential trade skills and adapt to industry standards. RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate Drive alignment and influence across Mortenson by partnering with leaders and teams to ensure craft learning initiatives support business priorities and organization-wide capability goals. Design and lead comprehensive learning strategies specifically targeted at building and advancing craft skills for key talent populations, aligning with Mortenson's business objectives and industry benchmarks. Conduct in-depth assessments to identify critical craft skills, behaviors, and technical competencies necessary for current and future roles within the organization's skilled trades. Develop, implement, and manage role-specific learning roadmaps and training pathways that directly support the ongoing professional growth, certification, and advancement of craft professionals. Utilize proven tools and methodologies in craft learning, such as hands-on simulations, virtual reality modules, competency-based assessments, and on-the-job mentoring to ensure effective skill acquisition and transfer. Partner with field leaders and technical experts to monitor the evolving needs of craft roles and to ensure learning solutions remain relevant, practical, and measurable. Design an impact and measurement strategy to track improvements in craft skills. This includes using metrics such as completed training, certifications, test scores, job performance, work quality, and employee retention to evaluate how effective the learning solutions are.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in learning & development, organizational development, business administration, or a related degree, or equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience 8 or more years of experience in training, learning and development, or organizational capability building. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working with executive stakeholders to shape and deliver high-impact learning strategies. Experience building learning solutions and programs for industrial and/or frontline populations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and effective craft/field learning environment. Exceptional ability to align learning strategies with organizational priorities and business outcomes. Ability to assess learning needs, conduct technical skills gap analyses, and map out skill development plans for various frontline or technical roles. Strong relationship-building and influencing skills at all levels, including senior executives, advisory committees, and operational leaders. Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills, with experience managing budgets, tracking program costs, and overseeing vendors to ensure effective, on-time delivery. Analytical mindset with experience in using data to inform decision-making and measure impact. Humble learner; strong sense of curiosity and optimism.

The base pay range for this role is $97,100 - $145,700. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. #LI-PM1 Please make note:
