Winter Night Watch Program Coordinator

***This is a seasonal, temporary, part-time position, the applicant must be at least 21 years of age for driving and insurance purposes***

***Pay Range: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, this is dependent upon driving experience***

***Timeframe: 11/17/25- 03/04/2026, Schedule: M-F 3:30 P.M.- 7:30 P.M.***

Summary/Primary Purpose: Serve as the primary interaction point between EDS and volunteers and assist in the process of the Winter Night Watch Program (WNWP), a seasonal mobile feeding and clothing distribution program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise volunteers and manage the Winter Night Watch Program (WNWP).

2. Responsible for preparing and delivering the monthly activity report to the EDS Manager.

3. Weekly review of WNWP to include identifying trends or human-interest stories.

4. Regularly review current policies and procedures of the WNWP and make recommendations when necessary.

5. Responsible for the scheduling of volunteers to meet the WNWP needs daily, to include stocking of items for WNWP, cleaning of the Cambros, and the canteen.

6. Coordinate the timetable and routes for the WNWP.

7. Partnering with the Director of Volunteer Ministries to ensure volunteers are in place for one (1) driver, one (1) assistant driver, and two (2) volunteers.

8. Coordination with EDS Manager regarding WNWP during inclement weather events.

9. Driving is an essential role of this position, and this role may serve as a backup driver.

10. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High school or GED diploma. Previous experience with volunteers or community-based services is a plus.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below represent the minimum knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.

2. Basic skills in Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and the ability to access the timecard and pay data system through a web-based system.

3. Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail, and filing.

4. Good communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships.

5. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program

to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Employees may often be required to engage in rigorous activities. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying objects (50 lbs.)

Working Conditions: The work environment is a business office setting with office equipment, light traffic, and a moderate noise level. It also includes working outside in various weather conditions.
