The Healthcare Strategic Account Manager role is to sell value to the customer and leverage Avient's resources globally by focusing on Avient's largest, strategic customers. These roles are not tied to specific product families or business units but must work effectively with all business units globally. Expectations include the ability to sell at all levels of management and build relationships that ensure Avient will continue to get the first and last look. Skilled at customer centric selling approaches and effectively selling the value of our products and services are also keys to success. Ability to function independently and effectively coaching matrix personnel in other disciplines and business units to achieve results. Individual must have the ability to assist customers in problem solving to deliver solutions, bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to their daily routines. This role requires the individual to perform the function independently without direction; and effectively interact and influence at the managerial peer level. Up to 75% travel is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Profitable revenue growth, including robust new business development.
  • Achieve stated gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Approach the sales process with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness by successful utilization of customer centric selling skills and tools, such as use of scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, high/wide/deep, 5 warning signs, prospecting & new account calls, development of a robust sales funnel, collecting ARs, avoidance of bad debts, cross selling, and effective CRM system management.
  • Ability to sell value to the customer and leverage Avient's resources globally. Must be versed in Avient's wide spectrum of products and services.
  • Establish, track and close new business targets consistent with long term growth objectives at designated Key Accounts with an ability to work globally across Avient and the customer organizations.
  • Develop, execute and manage strategic account plans and new product introductions.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams including technical and customer service in support of account objectives.
  • Adds customer value by acting as a business consultant to customers' key management; develops a thorough understanding of customers' business, overall initiatives and operational issues; advises customer on best Avient product(s) to accomplish their objectives; coordinates global sales agreements with BU pricing specialists, and/or special considerations as needed.
  • Implement marketing programs and provide feedback on resource needs and emerging opportunities; recommends to Marketing changes in Avient product/service mix by evaluating product results and competitive developments; market development activities to include performing analysis of customer plans and creating sales forecasts and account strategies.

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • At least 5 years of experience in a related sales field

  • Experience selling & marketing into the healthcare space strongly preferred
