The Brains, Emotions, and Adolescent Relationships (BEAR) Lab at the University of Virginia, under the direction of Stefanie Sequeira, Ph.D., in collaboration with the Program for Anxiety, Cognition and Treatment (PACT) Lab, under the direction of Bethany Teachman, Ph.D, seeks applicants for a full-time Research Coordinator. The team investigates social and cognitive processes that contribute to the development and maintenance of anxiety and related disorders, and we use mobile assessment methods and digital interventions to reduce anxious thinking and increase access to mental health services. The position will involve coordination of lab- and mobile-based data collections with youth, with a focus on using mixed methods and youth co-design processes to develop and test a new digital intervention to help anxious and depressed youth engage on social media in healthier ways. The Research Coordinator will also have opportunities to co-author scientific papers and conduct independent research. This is an excellent position for a college graduate who is interested in gaining additional research experience before going on to graduate study in psychology or a related field. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
