Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to providing tax expertise in your assigned area among capital structures, legal structures, cross-border reorganizations, transfer pricing, intra-group arrangements, tax accounting and reporting, or any other tax matters, and tax strategies that reflect the overall strategy and global initiatives. Each day, you will act as an internal tax advisor in the defined tax area and coordinate the resolution of tax issues. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations.

This is a hybrid position based in Cary, NC.

This role is contributing to ABB Corporate Functions.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and risks of non- compliance and proposing appropriate measures to mitigate tax risks.
  • Providing support and input to various projects and initiatives, including project risk reviews and contract structures.
  • Supporting in the development and implementation of relevant standards, processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of corporate tax matters in your area of responsibility.
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer, training activities, and best practices sharing; and being responsible for all tax accounting and reporting activities within the scope of your tax practice/area.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Access)
  • 2+ years of sales and use tax compliance/audit/reconciliation experience required.
  • Experience with transactional tax engines (Vertex, OneSource, Avalara) preferred
  • Effective communication skills in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Flexible working independently as well as in a team environment
