The Bushweller Lab in the Department of Molecular Physiology & Biological Physics (MPBP) at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for a Senior Research Scientist. The department conducts cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research into the physical, chemical, and quantitative foundations of living systems, with strengths in membrane biophysics, structural biology, signaling, and systems physiology. It also plays a central role in UVA's Interdisciplinary Biophysics Program, bringing together faculty from 13 departments to advance rigorous, quantitative approaches to biology. Within this environment, the Bushweller Lab focuses on uncovering the structural and biophysical mechanisms of transcription factor drivers in cancer and applying chemical biology to develop small-molecule inhibitors against these traditionally "undruggable" targets. The Senior Research Scientist will lead independent and collaborative research projects, applying advanced expertise to design experiments, analyze results, and develop new approaches in their field. This role is expected to organize and guide small research groups, contribute innovative ideas, and advance the scientific goals of the department with minimal supervision. Minimum Qualifications
