Job Summary

  • Support the Supervisor of Project Development and other Team Members as needed on Technology Security related tasks and projects. Responsible for implementing and maintaining a variety of security-related systems requiring significant interaction with Southwest Airlines Employees, vendors, and Contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing and implementing the system-wide growth plan of our video platform
  • Input appropriate access levels into the Access Control system
  • Maintain and upgrade production equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining and overseeing the daily operational integrity of the enterprise video systems and other security technology including review of video for investigative, safety, and operational support needs as well as preventative maintenance
  • Provide reporting on access and analyze historic video for forensic value
  • Responsible for Contractor scheduling and installation oversight of video system and access control equipment in Southwest facilities
  • Support long term security and operation department objectives
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of, buildings, or other structures.
    • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
    • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
    • Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
    • Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
    • Skilled in Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Education
    • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience
    • Intermediate experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
      • Access control software and hardware including servers, controller boards, and door hardware (mortis locks, cylindrical locks, strikes, surface and internal rods, request to exits, and cabling; knowledge of cabling standards and installation practices
      • Technical background including knowledge of video system operation, project development, and implementation
  • Licensing/Certification
    • Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements
  • Physical Abilities
    • Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
    • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
    • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
    • Ability to move/transport 50 lbs on an occasional basis (under 50%)
    • Ability to move in a prone position on or near the ground without standing
    • Ability to raise 50 lbs on an occasional basis (under 50%)
    • Ability to be or remain stationary in a forward and downward position
  • Other Qualifications
    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Pay & Benefits:

    Competitive market salary from $74,950 per year to $83,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the

    discretion of the company.
