What to Expect
The Failure Analysis Team's mission is to determine the root cause and contributing factors of field issues in Tesla's vehicle products, with the goal of improving the overall experience. As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in achieving this mission by focusing on failure analysis and root cause activities for Tesla's charging application.

What You'll Do
  • Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components for Tesla's charging products
  • Investigate system assemblies, modules, and components to identify the root cause of failure in Tesla's vehicle products
  • Design and conduct fault replication tests and experiments on power converters and low voltage PCBA's, including board rework and FW/HW testing
  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to drive resolution to identified failure causes
  • Provide inputs to design and manufacturing teams to improve design and production yield
  • Support design reviews and DFMEA based on prior failure experience

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong demonstrable experience in power electronics/power converter circuits and low voltage for vehicle applications
  • Electrical/electronic design experience is a strong plus
  • Strong demonstrable hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, including power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other common equipment
  • Extremely proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn different failure analysis techniques, including 2D and 3D X-ray, cross-sectioning, FTIR, DSC, SEM

    Expected Compensation
    $85,760 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
