Role Name: Sr. Analyst, System Testing I

Location: Columbia, SC

Work Environment: At least 3 days per week and as needed

Schedule: Team Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a 1 hour lunch, flexible - Occasional off hours and weekends

Contract length: 6 months (possibility of extension)

Job Summary:

Duties:

Provide service for multiple clients. Make recommendations to clients on how to improve testing activities. Perform quality checks across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. 40% Perform application testing analysis and lead activities that may include leading the development of test plans, cases, scenarios, and matrices, attending sessions with customers, planning and disbursing projects to team members, completing reports and developing processes. 30% Create test cases, execute testing, and document results. Define and analyze quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. Lead process improvement initiatives related to testing methodologies and techniques. Make recommendations to clients on how to improve operational workflows. 30% Provide service for multiple clients, which may include onsite service where needed. Facilitate and lead meetings with customers to understand and resolve technical issues. Mentor and provide guidance to testing staff.

Day to Day:

  • Typical day for a test automation engineer involves coding and maintaining automated test scripts, executing these tests, and analyzing the results to identify and report application defects.
  • Collaborate with SCRUM Team to understand requirements for building test automation scripts and participating in SCRUM meetings.
  • Tasks also include managing test environments and data and continuous learning to stay updated on new automation tools and strategies.

The Team:

  • The MyCGS portal group has one Scrum development team of 6 people.
  • They're currently working on Spring upgrades and several new initiates for user facing enhancements and backend connectivity.
  • The culture is collaborative, positive, and team oriented.

Job Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • 7 years of IT experience to include experience developing test plans and/or test matrices.



Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.



Required Technologies:

  • Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Frameworks including hybrid, keyword, and data driven
  • JAVA programing language for writing scripts in Selenium
  • Knowledge of SQL queries
  • Eclipse IDE
  • Knowledge of Gradle/Maven for integration in test automation projects for maintaining external dependencies/libraries
  • GitHub
  • The ideal candidate should be able to create/write, maintain, and update test automation scripts independently



Required Software and Tools:

  • Standard office equipment.



Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analysis skills. Skill in testing data creation and manipulation.
  • Thorough understanding of data processing terminology, operations, and architecture utilized in debugging application/environmental problems.
  • Skill in negotiation and/or Influencing business or technical partners.
  • Ability to write complex test cases/scripts.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to document complex problems and assist in their resolution.
  • Ability to understand functional connections between applications.
  • Ability to utilize test requirements, specifications, diagrams, logic functions, etc.



Nice To Have:

  • CI/CD & version control: Familiarity with tools like Jenkins
  • API Testing: Experience in automating API tests tools like Postman
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS. and Javascript
  • Selenium GRID Soft Skills: Communication for conveying results of testing. Problem solving determining new solutions, creating, and modifying test scripts. Teamwork is a must for our agile Scrum environment.
