Job Overview
SUMMARY The Electrical Trade Lead is the primary Lead Electrician in the scheduled and on-demand maintenance activity of all electrical, access control equipment, blue help phones, patient portal entertainment systems, low voltage data distribution system, distributed antenna system and life safety including fire detection and fire sprinkler systems. The Lead oversees and assists the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment; oversees and maintains Fire Alarm Systems and assists with the repair and maintenance of the Fire Sprinkler system and other life safety systems and devices; maintains accurate and up-to-date records for The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies; inspects and repairs support medical equipment for compliance to documented safety and performance standards. Position's lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to, determining and setting priorities for team; completing work assignments; instructing and reviewing the work of team; resolving problems and conflicts; performing supervisory duties for two or more employees with final accountability/oversight remaining with the supervisor who is responsible for delegating the lead assignments. Additional Information Department Name: Job Status: Full time, 40 hours per week Shift: Day, Monday to Friday ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
- Installs and repairs any and all electrical components and systems in an efficient and timely manner. Performs preventative maintenance on multiple types of electrical equipment.
- Repairs and maintains electrical equipment in a hospital setting such as, but not limited to, emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, motors, variable frequency drives, ATO, electrical distribution switchgear, transformers, lighting, and UPS systems.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment to prevent work place injuries.
- Completing assigned tasks and communicated clearly and appropriately to ensure that the end user of all projects is satisfied and happy with the outcome
- Works with various contractors to obtain the best price and ensure that services are completed in a timely manner and as intended. Responsible for personal use of resources, supplies and materials, and for tracking personal spending and submitting accurate expense reports.
- Maintains, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on any and all Life Safety systems in an efficient and timely manner.
- Documents the inspection, repair and other technical activities according to departmental policies and professional standards of practice.
- Performs repairs, inspections, regularly scheduled maintenance, and other technical support functions on medical support equipment.
- Inspects preventive maintenance testing and inspection log books required by The Joint Commission to ensure they are current, consistent and accurate.
- Receives and completes work orders in a timely manner. Maintains an accurate and up-to-date record of all work completed. Must remain in a continual state of readiness in order to help the hospital achieve accreditation from The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensures quality assurance of all scheduled and on-demand work activity.
- Coordinates with vendors and contractors on various projects and permits.
- Collaborates and attends meetings with other departments, such as Planning, Design and Construction, related to projects, construction, etc.
- Identifies training needs, assists with establishment of training outlines, coordinates and/or provides training as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent. Two years trade school certification.
- EXPERIENCE -Seven years electrical experience in a healthcare, commercial or industrial setting.
- EQUIVALENCY - A four year apprenticeship will substitute for the two year trade school certification.
- CERTIFICATION(S) - Current State of Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician license required within 90 days of hire.
- LICENSURE - N/A
Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $32.80 to $49.20
