Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Assist in facilitating the coordination of a systematic organization-wide Performance Improvement program, Participate in six sigma quality projects and quality control functions for the STHS. Perform concurrent reviews for data collection of the CMS required core measure indicators at all STHS facilities. Analyze and create action plans in coordination with stakeholders of the core measure data . Generate core measure reports monthly to identify successes and areas for improvement. Perform one-to-one contact with nursing staff and/or physicians associated with the areas for improvement. Assist with meeting preparations such as power point presentations, packet copying/assembly. Perform mortality reviews, quality data check reviews, "never event" reviews and other focus reviews as assigned. Be knowledgeable about the results and able to explain the results to committee members. Compose business letters to physicians and other correspondence as it pertains to core measure indicators. Promote the Quality Improvement activities throughout the system by facilitating and coaching continuous improvement activities. Foster the PI process of focus/assess the need, plan/do, measure the success, and evaluate the outcome. Understand the UHS Scorecard and it's linkages to quality studies and measurement. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have current computer knowledge in word, excel, access, power point; other software specialty knowledge a plus. 2. Strong proficiency in oral and written communication skills (grammar and spelling) necessary for communication with employees, physicians, and guests of the hospital. 3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. 4. Able to travel to other STHS facilities. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor or Associate degree in Nursing, Bachelor in Computer Science, business, health-related field, or a minimum of 5 years experience in Quality. Master preferred. 2. If bachelor's or Associate in nursing, currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent one. 3. RN will have BLS upon hire (and maintain through employment).
