Hourly Pay Range:

$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Senior Accountant

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Senior Accountant

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm

Job Summary:

Responsible for general accounting duties related to Capital Assets, Leases and other financial areas as assigned. The position assists in the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements. Analyzes monthly variances and provides insightful commentary to senior management. Supports operations teams, including Facilities and Property Management, with financial reporting and analysis. Prepares documentation for internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Participates in annual capital spend surveys and contributes to ad-hoc project reporting within the ERP system. This position will also assist in the maintenance of Foundation Data Elements (FDM) and improvements of financial business processes within the Workday ERP system.

What you will do:

  • Perform month-end journal entries primarily for Capital Assets and Leases, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Partner with capital project owners throughout the project lifecycle, from initial capital request via the OpenMarkets system to final setup and maintenance in the Workday ERP system.
  • Troubleshoot and assist in resolving purchase order and invoice discrepancies in Workday to ensure a seamless and accurate project lifecycle and asset capitalization process.
  • Ensure compliance with the Endeavor Health Capital Asset Accounting Management Policy in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Complete and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis for assigned accounts, investigate underlying causes, and clearly communicate findings to leadership through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Support the year-end audit process by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries related to capital expenditures and assets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted resource, providing guidance to accounting staff and department leaders on general accounting practices and policies for assigned financial areas.
  • Identify opportunities and implement process improvements and system enhancements within the Capital Accounting function to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the creation, maintenance, and oversight of the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) and associated finance configuration rules.
  • Collaborate with stakeholdersinvolved in capital accounting and projects to gather reporting requirements and develop effective Workday reporting solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the accounting team and departmental goals.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field, MBA preferred
  • Certification: CPA preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 5-10 years in accounting/finance
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
  • Experienced in capital asset accounting, including responsibility for a complete asset lifecycle (acquisition, depreciation, impairment, and disposal
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and/or other spreadsheet and database applications is required
  • Extensive experience with an ERP, Workday preferred
