Summary


The Merchandising Manager plays a pivotal role at Columbia Distributing. The Merchandising Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Merchandising Supervisors. They work closely with the sales team to ensure that customers are receiving great service.


Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee supervisors and merchandising team to ensure procedures and standards are being executed to Company standards
  • Monitor and make recommendations regarding sales, delivery and merchandising service levels in the retail market place
  • Receive, return and monitor all customer calls, complaints and issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain appropriate levels of merchandising team to meet budget as well as customer service requirements
  • Maintain positive relationships and direct communication with store personnel, sales team and delivery team
  • Work with merchandising and sales team members on a continual basis to train, support and evaluate needs
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others you come into contact with throughout your job
  • Work with HR to ensure Employee Relations are dealt with appropriately
  • Accurately clock in and out, adhering to state labor laws
  • Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned

This job operates in our accounts, mostly indoors with occasional outdoor work.


Physical Demands



  • Lift/carry 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 75 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary, and may include weekends.

Local travel only


Required Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance required
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite


Preferred Education and Experience



  • Previous grocery, merchandising or retail experience
  • Experience managing a team
  • Minimum three (3) years previous sales or merchandising experience
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience


Compensation



  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
  • Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
  • Hired applicant may be eligible for incentives/ bonuses/ annual bonuses.
