Arete is seeking a Senior Administrative and Security Support Specialist to join our team. This role is evenly split between supporting the Security Department and providing administrative and security-related assistance to program operations. This position will assist the security team's operations while also handling general office tasking.

This is an excellent growth opportunity for the right candidate who is eager to learn and contribute to both administrative and security-driven functions. You will support critical security operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the program space while gaining valuable exposure to the industrial security field. This full-time, non-exempt, non-supervisory position is based in our Northridge, CA office.

Security Department Support:

  • Support the Security Team with daily security-related tasks and compliance efforts
  • Maintain and organize compliance documentation
  • This role offers the opportunity to receive training and certification as the COMSEC Custodian or Alternate, providing a pathway for growth within the security organization.
Program Administrative Support:
  • Act as a key administrative support resource in the program space
  • Provide scheduling support and meeting logistics for hosted program meetings by verifying access and processing program badges, visitor records, greeting visitors upon arrival, and offering administrative support throughout the day.
  • Manage catering logistics for program-hosted and internal meetings, including vendor coordination, menu planning, and onsite setup.
  • Assist in maintaining digital security records by scanning and uploading compliance documentation, ensuring files are accurately organized and easily retrievable.
  • Liaise with Facilities and escort cleaning crews and vendors as required
  • Maintain office supplies, coordinate with IT and facilities for office equipment and repairs and manage office security protocols.
  • Support general scheduling for security and program staff

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 2-3 years of administrative or security-related experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing priorities
  • Active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one within 3 months is required

Nice To Have (Preferred Skill):

  • Interest or experience in industrial security or classified environments
  • Familiarity with NISPOM or DoD security protocols
  • Previous administrative experience supporting multiple departments or reporting lines
  • Experience with logistics coordination, facilities liaison, or event support (e.g., catering)
  • Ability and willingness to learn and grow within the security field

The salary range for this role is $75,000/yr to $80,000/yr; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
